I love this fountain. I was looking for a new fountain that me and my cat would enjoy. The one I had before was too loud and my cat did not use it. I read that ceramic and glass were quieter than stainless steel. I found this glass combo and love the clean aesthetics. When I unboxed it and hooked it up i couldn’t be happier. It is easy to clean, simple design, not a whole lot of parts, and has a very silent pump and yay no trickling water sound so it is very quiet. After a hour my cat drank from it when the lighta in the kitchen went off. The blue light is not as bright as I thought it would be, just right. So it is a winner! Best of all I don’t have to worry about bacteria or algae. Plus it is stylish and matches with my cats feeding dishes.
Pros: Glass is safe to drink out of. The stainless steel top is also safe. Pump is very quiet and the rubber bottom keeps the fountain in one place. The cats love it.
Cons: The blue light on the pump cannot be turned off. I had to wrap black cardboard around the glass to keep the whole kitchen from being lit up blue all night long. Cats are very sensitive to blue light. Also, the steel top tends to develop a hum from the water pouring into it. Kind of like a drum effect.
I'm sure that NPET will address these topics in the future. They make a great cat fountain and I would recommend this item to interested people.
